What is an ecosystem?
An ecosystem is a system with several different things to keep it going: decomposers, consumers and producers each have an important role if they don't do their role the ecosystem would not work and the animals would die. Some things interrupt the cycle such as introduced animals and people hunting and making animals extinct.
Here is an example of an ecosystem:
Decomposers
Decomposers breakdown fallen down trees and other things that are no longer needed and turn it into fresh soil for plants to grow. Decomposers are an important part of the ecosystem; they help birds get food and help new growth come in. If they weren't here there would not be any trees so that means no air or animals. They are fungi and different types of mushrooms.
Producers
Producers make food like nectar, food and leaves for animals to eat.Producers are plants, trees and flowers.Producers are an important part of an ecosystem if they weren't there animals wouldn't be able to survive and the ecosystem would get ruint.
Consumers
Consumers eat the things that the producers provide they are one of the living things in the ecosystem.Consumers are animals.Consumers are an important part of an ecosystem they make everything in balance if the animals are not there everything would get out of balance.
